WEEK 23 FIXTURES AND PREDICTIONS
SATURDAY 17/01/2020
12.30pm WATFORD VS TOTTENHAM
Watford currently rejuvenated under Nigel Pearson, to me seem to be a better choice at the moment with Eriksen on the way to Inter and out of sorts, Kane injured and out for the long term, I fancy Watford to nick this one and climb further into safety, Jonnycash says 2-1 to Watford.
3pm ARSENAL VS SHEFFIELD UNITED
Mikel Arteta VS Chris Wilder battle here, Mikel is still feeling out his best 11 while Chris has drilled his team to perfection, punching well above his weight, no doubt Mikel will get the best out of his team in the long run but for now I reckon Sheffield United will nick one. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is suspended and Sheffield United are at full strength. My prediction 0-1 Sheffield United
3pm BRIGHTON AND HOVE ALBION VS ASTON VILLA
Pretty evenly matched two sides here currently 14th and 18th in the table retrospective. Villa has new signing Pepe Reina ex-liverpool goalkeeper. Brighton’s Aaron Mooy has overcome a knee problem. Jack Grealish has an eye on a move to Manchester United which may prove a distraction, I reckon a draw here 1-1 with Pepe Reina impressing on debut.
3pm MANCHESTER CITY VS CRYSTAL PALACE
Think this one is a no-brainer City three wins on the bounce against Palace, three draws on the bounce. Big Roy will do his best have the defense well organised but at the Eihad City as a different animal and will wear them down with fast free flowing football, think this will be all over quickly, 3-1 early on will say 4-1 at the finish to Manchester City the pressure will be on to keep up with Liverpool with one eye on the blockbuster at Anfield on Sunday in the hope on Liverpool slipping up the way Stephen Gerrard once did.
3pm NORWICH CITY VS AFC BOURNEMOUTH
The battle on the basemount 20th vs 19th. Have to say Norwich play beautiful attacking football and Bournemouth under Eddie Howe at the moment really seem doomed but have to love and appreciate a club that is sticking by him after moving up four divisions together and showing great loyalty. Bournemouth without Joshua King and Jack Stacey really to me don’t stand a big chance until the injury situation improves my heart says Bournemouth but my head says Norwich 2-1 Bournemouth, Delia Smith to cook up the winning goal and to try to rescue Norwich from the drop.
3pm WEST HAM VS EVERTON
David Moyles up against his old club, back at his “Home” he says. Seems to have the team whipped up and going unlike Carlo ancelotti that is used to having a large checkbook this time of year, Moyles is a much better manager on a budget and will get the best out of Anderson and Randolph, Everton set to miss Richarlison for the first time this season will hurt them, he is the engine room of the team, my prediction 2-0.
3PM SOUTHAMPTON VS WOLVES
Another evenly matched game, Southampton’s Danny Ings on fire at the moment, Southampton in slightly better form then Wolves at the moment, however Wolves have a knack of sneeking late goals and grinding out results. Wolves without Ruben Vinagre, my prediction is 1-1.
5.30PM NEWCASTLE VS CHELSEA
The late game and final game of the day. Bruce seems to be getting the best out of Newcastle at the moment but that will only get you so far until Ashley gives him some money to spend, not in great form and with Chelsea able to sign players again, no fitness concerns and in decent form, to me Chelsea will be to strong on this occasion. my prediction 1-2.
SUNDAY 19th JANUARY 2020 WILL APPEAR AFTER SATURDAY’S GAMES
2pm BURNLEY VS LEICESTER CITY
Burnley dangerously close to the relegation zone, no Ashley Barnes, will be defending for their lives to hold Leicester out and stop them for taking all three points, Leicester going for second need to keep the pressure on City and I have no doubt that they will win but it will be a grind to get past a doggish Burnley defense, Jonnycash says Burnley 0 Leicester 2.
4.30PM LIVERPOOL VS MANCHESTER UNITED
United are the only team to take points off Liverpool all season however United have Paul Pogba, Scott McTominay, Marcos Rojo, Axel Tuanzebe and Marcus Rashford all out, Ashley Young on way to Inter the team seem more unsettled than usual at the moment and are going through a transition, while Liverpool are at the peak of their powers, can’t see past Liverpool winning this one 3-1.
